Training for children's hospice workers

Are you interested in volunteering at the Jona outpatient Children's Hospice Service? We offer courses in which we enable committed people to accompany and support seriously ill and disabled children and their families.

In the course, participants learn about serious illnesses and disabilities of children. Communication and dealing with illness, loss, death and grief themselves are further focal points of the training. Attending the families is voluntary, and companions are subject to confidentiality. Volunteers are supported by regular supervision and training.

At the end of a course each participant receives a certificate, which is a prerequisite for working in the context of hospice support. In the event of subsequent active participation, which also requires participation in the supervision, the course fees will be reimbursed.

The companions receive support at any time from the full-time co-ordinators of the children's hospice service.
